FYI The Fintech licenses that are currently being offered (special purpose national bank charters) ARE at a national level reporting to the OCC, specifically because of the state level complication
CBDC would have total control over your bank account. They could limit your account spending for any reason they want. If they don't agree with your politics, or something you said online. They could charge your account or turn your account off.
They can decline if you want to buy something they don't think you need or shouldn't have. It includes the Chinese Social Credit Score.
So. If you think communism is a good idea, you might like CBDC's.

For some reason people who are into crypto forget a huge factor of currency, the fact that currency controls our entire lives. Why would the elite of the world give up control? Bit coin is not decentralized. Bitcoin is the same as Visa or Mastercard just a separate form. Crypto is here to stay but it will be governed by either a banking standard for the world or individual central banks for each country.

Haven't finished the video yet, but they are kind of keep talking about creating a new currency. When the goal is having a digital currency to replace cash, I think the Chinese solution is the most straightforward - Just digitize the existing currency. I think the Digital RMB (Renminbi/Yuen) of China will be a successful implementation.
